adidas is giving its Adizero Aruku silhouette a fresh update this summer with the release of the “Boro Denim” pack. Inspired by the brand’s original Adizero shoe from the early 2000s, this new version blends high-performance features with a stylish, everyday appeal.
First introduced in Fall 2024, the Adizero Aruku quickly caught attention, with early sightings of the model on influencers and artists. The name “Aruku” is derived from the Japanese verb meaning “to walk,” aligning the shoe with its casual, everyday wear purpose. One of the key features of the Aruku is its Swirlfoam cushioning, designed for comfort, paired with a rocker-shaped sole that propels the wearer forward with each step.
This week, adidas teased the upcoming “Boro Denim” pack, which takes inspiration from the traditional Japanese art of denim repair. Boro involves adding new fabric patches to worn areas of denim, often using sashiko stitching to create a distinct, rugged look. The Boro Denim aesthetic was last seen in an adidas collaboration with END. and Bodega in 2017. For this new release, the Adizero Aruku comes in two colorways: a classic indigo blue with a lighter blue cage overlay, and a dark black version accented with dark grey tones. Both styles feature brown leather heel counters and gum soles, adding a premium touch to the design.
While the official release details have yet to be confirmed, the Adizero Aruku “Boro Denim” pack is expected to launch in Summer 2025. Each pair will likely be available through adidas and select retailers, with a price point estimated at around $140, though the unique design could push the price higher.
This collaboration brings a fresh twist to the Aruku’s already impressive performance features, making it a must-have for sneaker enthusiasts and casual wearers alike.
