The inspiration behind this unique design comes from Unheardof’s mascot, Captain Piggy, a quirky cartoon pig that has become an iconic symbol for the boutique.
Since its establishment in 2008, Unheardof has made a name for itself in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a top destination for sneakers and streetwear. The boutique was founded by Philip Lipschutz, initially as an outlet for his passion for skateboarding, pop art, and lifestyle apparel. Over time, it has evolved into one of the most reputable sneaker shops in the U.S. In recent years, Unheardof has garnered attention for its successful collaborations with Adidas, including notable releases like the Forum Low in both the “Grandma’s Couch” and “Building Bridges” collections.
In a recent appearance on the Sneaky Leak podcast, Lipschutz provided an early sneak peek of the upcoming release, revealing the Adistar Cushion 3 as the star of the show. The design features a mix of mesh and suede, with the base layer in a soft pale pink complemented by darker pink overlays. To add some contrast, the shoe is accented with flashes of red, while Captain Piggy himself makes a playful appearance on the tongues of the shoes.
The official launch date for the Unheardof x Adidas Adistar Cushion 3 “Captain Piggy” has yet to be confirmed, but the shoe is expected to hit the shelves in 2025. Initially, the shoe will be available through Unheardof, followed by a broader release through Adidas.
