Nike SB is set to bring back one of its most iconic skateboarding sneakers, the P-Rod 1, next year to celebrate its 20th anniversary. Originally released in 2005, Paul Rodriguez’s first signature shoe with Nike returns next Summer in its classic black and white colorway.
The P-Rod 1 holds a significant place in the history of Nike SB. When it launched in 2005, it was not only the first-ever signature model for Paul Rodriguez but also marked the beginning of Nike SB’s signature sneaker line. The P-Rod 1 quickly became a hit in the skateboarding world, and it set the stage for a successful series of shoes that would span a decade. To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the original release, Nike is bringing back this iconic silhouette.
Paul Rodriguez himself recently shared an early look at the retro version of the P-Rod 1, showcasing its timeless design. The sneaker comes in its original black and white colorway, crafted from premium leather and featuring the signature ‘R’ monogram print around the heels. The shoe also includes metallic chrome accents on the eyelets and tongue branding, as well as a visible air bag for added comfort.
The Nike SB P-Rod 1 OG is set to release in May 2025. This classic sneaker will be available through Nike’s SNKRS app and select Nike skate shops, with a retail price of $110.
