New Balance is kicking off the year with a fresh addition to their lineup, revealing an updated version of the 2000 model for 2025. Set to drop this summer, this revamped version of the early 2010s runner is poised to make a splash with a modernized design.
Over the past few years, New Balance has been revisiting their archive, bringing back classic models with updated designs to fit contemporary tastes. Some of these releases, like the 475, have been faithful retro revivals, while others, such as the 2002R and 1906R, feature updated tooling. This latest release, however, represents a full redesign of the 2010s-era 2000 model.
Originally launched as a chunky runner with mesh and leather, the 2000 was a staple in the “dad shoe” era. For 2025, New Balance has completely overhauled the model, introducing new features like synthetic taped overlays and a new cushioning system. The shoe now includes five cushioning pods on each side, offering enhanced comfort and support. The first look reveals a light blue and white colorway, showcasing the refreshed design that brings a modern twist to the classic silhouette.
Release Details for the New Balance 2000
While New Balance has yet to officially announce the release date for the 2000, the shoe is expected to drop in Summer 2025. The updated design will be available at New Balance and select retailers, though pricing details are still to be confirmed.
