As one of New York City’s most storied footwear retailers, Tip Top Shoes is marking a major milestone in 2025—85 years of serving sneaker enthusiasts and shoe lovers. To celebrate this impressive achievement, the iconic store has partnered with adidas for an exclusive anniversary collection, featuring two classic models: the SL72 and Handball Spezial.
Founded in 1940, Tip Top Shoes has long been a staple in NYC, offering a wide range of footwear that spans from casual sneakers to formal shoes. The store gained recognition early on for introducing European comfort footwear brands like Birkenstock, UGG, and Timberland to the U.S., helping shape footwear trends over the decades.
For their 85th anniversary, Tip Top is honoring its legacy with a special adidas collaboration that will drop this month. The collection includes two vintage models, the SL72 and the Handball Spezial. The SL72 comes in a striking dark red color, blending suede and nylon for the upper, with unique dress shoe-inspired touches like brogue perforations on the Three Stripes and jagged suede edges. The Handball Spezial, on the other hand, offers a vibrant pink look, crafted from knit material and accented with colorful splashes for a playful vibe.
